The biggest Dota 2 event of the year is starting soon. All teams for the International 2023 are decided through DPC rankings and regional qualifiers. TI 12 will have 20 teams competing for the DOTA 2 world championship in Seattle from October 12th.

The International 2023 will have 20 teams, 12 of which are qualified through the season DPC ranking. Here are the top 12 seeds of the TI 12.
These teams are qualified through the Dota pro circuit leaderboard after all the tours and majors of the 2023 season. Other than these 12 teams, 8 more teams qualified for the TI 12 through regional qualifiers.

TI 12 Prizepool-
These 20 teams will compete for the International 2023 championship. The prizepool of TI 12 has not been disclosed yet as the Battlepass has been removed from the game. So it is speculated that the overall prize pool for 2023 International will be lower than usual.
Every year, Dota 2 international has a base prizepool of 1.6 million USD and then 25% of all battlepass sales also go towards the International prizepool. This year Valve stopped the battlepass so it is quite uncertain what will be the prizepool for TI 12.
The International 2023: Schedule and Format
The 2023 TI 12 will start on October 12th with the group stages. This year the Dota 2 International will have a new format. There will be 4 groups of 5 teams each in Group Stage- phase 1. The bottom team from each group (5th place) will be eliminated from the event. The remaining teams will be qualified for the playoffs but will face each other in phase two for seeding in playoff brackets (upper and lower).
The main event of International 2023 - The playoffs will begin on October 20th. Eight teams start from the upper bracket quarterfinals whereas the other teams will be placed in the lower bracket. The grand finals will be played on October 29th, Sunday in Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena.
Exciting news for Fans !
There is some exciting news for fans as many old legendary names are back in the Dota 2 International but also many big names didn't qualify for it. The biggest news for fans is that Topson will be playing for Tundra Esports as Saksa's replacement for TI 12. Team SMG qualified from SEA qualifiers which means midOne, noOne and ah Fu are back to compete in the International.
Sadly, Team Secret failed to qualify for TI 12 which means Puppey's streak of attending every Dota 2 International is now been stopped. Team Aster failed to qualify which means Sumail is also missing from this year's TI.
