Sentinels and 100T qualifies from VCT NA Challengers Stage 2, open qualifiers 2 result
The second open qualifiers for the VCT 2022 Stage 2 NA Challengers have finished and all the teams for the VCT NA Challengers main event are decided. The NA Challengers Main Event will start on May 13th and 12 teams will compete for two NA spots in VCT Master 2 Berlin.
In the second and final qualifiers of the Challengers Sentinels, 100T, Evil Geniuses and Ghost managed to qualify for the Challengers. They join the eight other teams in the main event of Stage 2 Challengers.
VCT Stage 2 NA Challengers open Qualifiers result-
The second open qualifiers for NA challengers had many big names fighting for a spot in the main event. In the upper bracket of qualifiers, 100T and Evil Geniuses managed to smoothly qualify for the Challengers.
On the other hand, Sentinels and Ghost Gaming lost their top 16 games. They both needed to win 5 straight BO3 series to qualify for Challengers. Both these teams managed to accomplish that and qualified for the VCT Stage 2 NA Challengers. In the second open qualifiers, Version1 and Knights were considered one of the favourites to qualify for the main event but failed to secure a spot in challengers.
Sentinels received a tone of backlash from fans and analysts after losing their game in the upper bracket, they were already getting negative responses from fans regarding their performance in stage 1, first open qualifiers, and internal team and coach issues. And after that, they lost their first game just after re-signing Rawkus as their head coach. Luckily for Sentinels, they managed to qualify for the main event, but they needed to heavily rely on their star player TenZ to perform insanely in every series which is considered one of their weakness.
VCT Stage 2 NA Challengers Teams and Schedule-
A total of 12 teams will compete in VCT Stage 2 NA Challengers for the two spots in VCT 2022 Stage 2 Masters Berlin. Four teams, Optic, Guard, XSet and Cloud 9 received a direct invite because of their performance in VCT 2022 Stage 1.
From the first open qualifiers, NRG, Faze, Luminosity and TSM qualified for main event. From second open qualifiers, 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses, Sentinels and Ghost managed to secure final spots.
These 12 teams will be divided into two groups of 6 teams each, top 4 teams from each group will move on to playoffs. The group stages will be played from May 13 to June 12.
