The bottom team from each group (5th place) will be eliminated from the event. The remaining teams will be qualified for the playoffs but will face each other in phase two for seeding in playoff brackets (upper and lower).
The main event of International 2023 - The playoffs will begin on October 20th. Eight teams start from the upper bracket quarterfinals whereas the other teams will be placed in the lower bracket. The grand finals will be played on October 29th, Sunday in Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena.
TI 12 Prize Pool
The International 2023 will have a prize pool of $1.6 million + 25% of Compendium revenue. So far it's under $3 million (around $2.95m) and fans as well as players are very disappointed with it.
The TI 12 prize pool will be the lowest in 10 years of Dota 2 Internationals. The peak prize pool of The International was reached at $40 million in 2021. This year Valve announced that they will not be releasing a Battle Pass in Dota 2 instead they released a compendium more focused on esports instead of in-game cosmetics. This caused a massive hit to the sales of Compendium and the overall prizepool of TI 12.
