Indian Esports: A new start!
Updated: Apr 12, 2021
India is slowly emerging as the new hub for esports and we have come a long way since the 2018 Forsaken incident.
Esports is recognized as a proper career in many parts of the globe but in India people still lack the mentality to promote competitive gaming as a sports on its own. But we are seeing a shift from this mentality after the emergence of many new gaming organizations taking part in various esports events held all across the country.
We are seeing a great many organizations like S8UL, XO space, Team Mahi, Global esports, etc setting up their own boot camps(gaming houses) and content houses for their players to practice and creators to create their content. Borrowing this concept from the continent of North America we are witnessing the rise of Esports in India which holds a promising career for individuals with skills and talent who are willing to work hard and become a part of Esports in India.
Esports is a sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and Esports will be a medal sport in Asian Games’22. We will surely see rise of many new great players who will bring glory to our country and strengthen the core of esports in India.
