Faze defeats G2, qualifies for Semi-final of IEM Katowice 2024

In the Quarterfinal of IEM Katowice Faze clan beat G2 2-0 to move onto the semi-final. This was as always one of the most anticipated matchups of IEM Katowice as both these teams are fan favorites and have big names and star players.

Faze vs G2 Result: IEM Katowice 2024 Quarterfinals

Faze and G2 faced each other in the Quarterfinal for a chance to qualify for the semi-final spot against Mouz. Faze was the second seed from Group A whereas G2 was the third seed of Group B and had a more difficult run through the lower bracket to reach the playoffs.

G2 Esports started the series strong by winning three straight rounds but Faze Clan slowly build momentum in not only the first map as well as entire series. Faze Clan won the series 2-0, Inferno 13-9 and Ancient 13-6. Faze will now face Mouz in the semi-final on February 10th. On the other hand, G2's Counter Strike 2 run had been mediocre so far they finished IEM Katowice 2024 with a 5th-6th place finish, $40,000, and 500 Blast Points.

Broky had an insane series for the Faze Clan as he finished with combined kills of 43 across two maps which was 12 more than the second best scorer Frozen. Broky had a rating of 1.58 and lead the Faze Clan to victory against G2 Esports.

G2 Esports were the defending Champions but had an underperforming tournament as per their standards and expectations. G2 are still looking for solid results in their CS 2 journey.
