ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 Dota 2 - Schedule and Result

Dota 2's first Major of 2022 is starting on May 12th, ESL One Stockholm 2022 Major will have 14 teams competing for a USD 500,000 prize pool and pro circuit points.

ESL One Stockholm Major will be the first major and LAN event of 2022, the first major was supposed to happen in mid-February but due to travel restrictions and health and safety protocols was canceled. That major was replaced by regional finals for every region in which only top teams from DPC Tour 1 competed for the title of the best team from their region.

Originally the ESL One Stockholm Major was supposed to have 18 teams, four teams from China will not be able to participate in Major due to travel restrictions. Therefore the Major will continue with the 14 teams, while the Chinese region will have Regional Finals in between PSG.LGD, Xtreme Gaming, Team Aster and RNG from May6th-8th and will have a USD 100,000 prize pool.

ESL Dota 2 Stockholm Major 2022: Schedule and Format

The group stage of ESL Stockholm Major is starting on May 12th, 14 teams will be divided into two groups of 7 teams each. Group Stages will be round-robin style, each team will play each other once in the group stage, top 4 teams from each group will move onto upper bracket quarterfinals. The 5th and 6th place teams from each group will be placed in lower bracket round 1. This means that after the end of group stage, one team from both groups will be eliminated.

The playoffs of ESL Stockholm 2022 Major will be double-elimination bracket. Eight teams will start from upper bracket quarterfinals and four teams will start in lower bracket round 1, they will be joined by losers of upper quarterfinals. The playoffs will begin from May 16th. Grand Finals will be played on May 22nd, all the series except grand finals will be a BO3 series, grand final will be a BO5 series.
