VP, Heroic secures IEM Katowice 2022 playoffs - OG and CPH eliminated from group stage

IEM Katowice 2022 is reaching close to its playoffs stage, Vitus Pro and Heroic are the first two teams to qualify for the playoff. OG and Copenhagen Flames got eliminated from playoffs of IEM Katowice 2022 after loosing their games in lower bracket.

VP and Heroic will face each other in the upper bracket final of group A to decide the seeding, the number 1 seed from each group will directly be placed in semi-finals of playoffs. The second and third seeds will be playing in quarterfinals.

IEM Katowice 2022 Group A results-

After winning their round 1 games of group stages Heroic and Vitality faced each other while VP faced NiP. Heroic defeat Vitality 2-0 in a super close series - Mirage 16-12, Inferno 22-18. VP won against NiP 2-1 : Overpass 16-9, Vertigo 12-16, Ancient 16-8. Heroic and VP with these wins secured a top 6 finish in IEM Katowice 2022.

In the lower bracket of group A, Mouz and OG played each other in elimination series where Mouz came out victorious 2-0 : Nuke 16-12, Inferno 16-9. Everyone had high expectations from the OG after their impressive run in Blast Premier Spring Groups. In the second elimination series Gambit played Copenhagen Flames, CPH lost 1-2 and got eliminated from IEM Katowice 2022.

IEM Katowice 2022 Group B results-

Group B of IEM Katowice 2022 had some big names competing for the 3 spots in playoffs. Fan favourites like G2, Liquid and Astralis lost their opening series in group B and dropped down to lower bracket. Navi barely managed to defeat ENCE and stayed in upper bracket. G2 got upset by Fnatic 2-1, Faze beat Liquid 2-1, Furia won against Astralis 2-0 and Navi defeat ENCE 2-1 in first round of Group B of IEM Katowice 2022.

NAVI will now face Furia whereas Faze and Fnatic will go head to head in round 2 of upper bracket. The winners of round 2 will qualify for the playoffs. In the lower bracket G2 will face Team Liquid and Astralis will face ENCE in an elimination BO3 series.
