Vitality wins ESL Pro League 16, defeat Team Liquid in Grand Finals

Team Vitality beat Team Liquid in the grand final to become the CSGO ESL Pro League Season 16 Champions. Vitality won 200K USD, a spot in Blast premier World Finals 2022 and IEM Katowice 2023.

Team Vitality and Team Liquid faced each other in the best of five Grand Finals of ESL Pro League season 16. Both these teams were not considered favourites to reach the grand finals let alone win the event, they had a very bad 2022 CSGO season so far.

The series had all five maps and was a very close and competitive series, Team Vitality won 3-2 to win the ESL Pro League season 16. Team Vitality went undefeated in the entire ESL Pro League season 16, they had a 5-0 result in the group stages.

Vitality's Zywoo and Liquid's Yekindar were in the run to be named the MVP of ESL Pro League 16. In the grand finals, Zywoo set the record for the most kill in a single series ever. He had 143 frags across five maps and an insane +50 +/-. Zywoo with this insane performance in the grand finals and in the entire event was named the MVP of ESL Pro League 16.

After the ESL Pro League season 16 the next big event will be the IEM Rio Major which will start on October 31'st. The regional RMR for Major's qualifications will start on October 4th.
