South Asia's Velocity Gaming beat Oblivion Force of Hong Kong 2-0 in group stage matchup of VCT 2022 APAC Challengers. Next game of VLT will be on March 20th which will be a qualification game for playoffs.
This is the first ever VCT event for India's Velocity Gaming. After winning VCC 2022, VLT were directly qualified for the group stages of APAC whereas their regional rival Global Esports were in play-ins where they failed to win a single map. GE's performance in this years APAC was very disappointed for Indian fans. GE's early elimination made the Indian fans all hope to land on VLT and so far they met the expectations.
Velocity gaming VCT APAC Challengers result-
South Asia's number 1 seed Velocity Gaming faced Hong Kong's first seed Oblivion Force in the opening game of group D. The first map of the series was Icebox VLT's pick and they showed in first half that why they picked this map. VLT dominated the first half of Icebox and had a 10-2 lead going into second half. OF had an insane comeback attempt but in the end VLT managed to close the first map 13-10.
Second map was Ascent which was a surprise for VLT fans. VLT hadn't played Ascent for around 7-8 months in an official game. After the very back and forth halves, VLT managed to wrap Ascent with a same score line of 13-10 and took the series 2-0.
'DEATHMAKER' Debanjan Das, leaded VLT on his Jett in first map with his crucial entry frags whereas the second map's hero was 'Hellff' Sagnik Roy on his camber with important clutches and heroic plays.
The next match of the group D will be Full Sense vs South built Esports. Velocity Gaming will face the winner of this series in qualifier game whereas the looser will face Oblivion Force in an elimination game.
