VCT Stage 1 Masters 2022 Result and Schedule: Optic beats LOUD in grand final

First Masters of 2022 VCT has ended with Optic Gaming winning 3-0 in the grand finals over LOUD. Optic lifts the trophy of Reykjavik Masters and $200,000 USD prize money. North American team Optic has now won their first ever international tournament.

One team in this event became worldwide fan favourites, Japan's ZETA Division impressed everyone with their third place finish in VCT 20222 Stage 1 Masters. ZETA is the team with the most number of elimination in VCT Masters, in group stages they eliminated Fnatic and NiP. After loosing in first round of playoffs they found themselves in the lower bracket where they had an insane run, in their lower bracket run ZETA eliminated Liquid, DRX and Paper Rex.



Optic beat LOUD in grand finals: VCT Stage 1 Masters final results


Brazil's number 1 seed faced NA's second seed in the VCT 2022 Stage 1 Iceland Masters grand finals. Both these teams also faced each other in upper final, where LOUD took the 2-1 victory and qualified for grand finals, leaving Optic in lower bracket. Optic then managed to beat ZETA 3-0 to move on to grand finals and secure their rematch against LOUD.

Grand Finals of VCT Masters was a best of 5 series, first map of the series was Ascent, Optic took a 10-2 lead at halftime and managed to close out the map with a score of 13-9 in their favour. Second map of the series was Bind, after a tough first half, LOUD managed to force overtime, but Optic took this map 14-12 to gain a 2-0 lead in series.


Third map of the series was Breeze and again both these teams found themselves in overtime. Optic managed to once again clutch out the map in second overtime and won 15-13. With this win Optic clean swept the series 3-0 against LOUD and became the VCT Stage 1: Iceland Masters Champions.

VCT Masters 2022 Group Stage final Result and standing -


Group stages of VCT Iceland Masters 2022 has ended on April 13th, Wednesday. A total of 12 team participated in VCT Stage 1 Masters and top 4 seed of them were directly qualified for playoffs. The rest 8 teams were placed in two groups of 4 teams each, after the dust settled 4 team moved on to playoffs while the other 4 got eliminated from Masters. Few upsets and underdogs appeared in first phase of event. Here is the complete leaderboard and score of group stages -

From group A Korea's DRX and EMEA's Fnatic were without a doubt the favourites to qualify for playoffs, but due to Covid and travel restrictions they were forced to play with 3 substitutes and doesn't looked their original self. Fnatic didn't event managed to win a single map in this Masters. DRX cruised their way through the group stage and dominated everyone to qualify for playoffs.


Japan's ZETA Division managed to not only eliminate Fnatic but also win the decider series against Brazil's NiP. ZETA made history as they became the first team from their region to qualify for playoffs of Masters.

this group was the group of death, all 4 teams were closely matched and no one was a clear favourites to move on to playoffs. Liquid qualified as top seed by winning their both matchups. In the decider match Optic faced Xerxia and Optic came out to guns blazing to take the revenge of their loss in opening match. optic played both maps with new agent Neon and a new lineup. Xerxia had no answer for them and had pretty bad and tilting game. Optic won 2-0 to qualify for playoffs.
