Valorant Champions 2021 has completed its first phase that is the group stages, Total of 16 teams entered the Valorant's first ever world championship and only 8 of them moved onto playoffs.
Valorant Champions groups final day 7 results -
Last day of group stages of Valorant champions had 3 decider games and everyone got to see some insane games.
First series of the day was in between Korea's Vision Strikers an NA's Cloud 9, both these teams were equally matched but VS was slightly favoured to win. The series went to its last map and last round where Cloud 9 won the decider map 13-11 and took the series 2-1 (Ascent 13-10, Split 9-13 and Breeze 13-11). C9 will now play Team Liquid in quarterfinals whereas VS are eliminated from Champions.
Second series of the day was Philippines' team Secret vs Brazil's team Vikings. Contrary to first series this series was completely one sided as Team Secret won the series 2-0 (Haven 13-6 and Icebox 13-7) and moved onto quarterfinals to play Acend.
Last series of the group stages was NA's Envy vs Thailand's X10 Crit and was a complete surprise. Envy won first map Icebox 13-10, X10 tied the series by winning back Split 13-8. Decider map of the series was Haven, Envy was up 9-3 going into second half then X10 managed to pull off an insane come back to force overtime. X10 completed their comeback by winning 14-12 in overtime and won the series 2-1 and eliminated Envy from Champions. X10 will now face Gambit in quarterfinals.
Valorant Champions Group stages results : Surprises and Upsets -
Valorant's first ever world Championship had some big surprises for everyone in its bag. After the group stages 2 of the favourites have already been eliminated, North Americas Sentinels and Envy faced massive upset by KRU andX10 respectively.
EMEA region clearly dominated the group stages all 4 of the EMEA teams qualified for playoffs as the first seed from their respective groups. South East Asia also had an surprising event so far 2 out 0f 3 of their representatives had made it to the playoffs of Valorant Champions.
