Gladiators crowned as Western EU regional champion, beat Liquid in final
Gladiators defeat Team Liquid 3-1 in grand final of Western Europe regional major in their debut tournament. The regional finals were the replacement for the first major of the year which was canceled due to health and safety protocols regarding covid. Top 4 teams of DPC tour 1 of each region fought against each other in their respective regional final.
Gladiators just signed Team Tickles Dota 2 roster on February 8th and became Western Europe champions just after 5 days. No organisation can ask for a better debut result. Team Tickles finished the first DPC tour of 2022 with second place finish and was under the sight of many different organisations.
Dota 2 Western Europe Regional Final result-
Team Liquid were the favourites going into this grand final, they not only finished the DPC league with first place, they also had a flawless run in the regional finals. Liquid already defeated Gladiators once in upper bracket final 2-0 and were looking to repeat that performance. But Gladiators this time had different plan as they came out strong to took a 1-0 lead in series, Liquid tied the series at 1-1. From there on Gladiators won consecutive games to win the series 3-1 and became the Western EU regional champion.
Top 2 teams did not only get prize money, they also received DPC points which will be crucial later this year for TI 11 qualifiers.
