G2 Esports qualify for VCT Stage 1 Masters, Liquid eliminated | VCT EMEA Challengers result

G2 Esports is the final team from EMEA region to qualify for the VCT Stage 1 Masters in Reykjavik, Iceland. G2 beat Team Liquid 2-0 in the do or die game in playoffs of VCT EMEA Challengers. G2 are now in lower bracket final which means they have now secured a top 3 finish in EMEA Stage 1 and will be going to Iceland.

In the other series of the day FPX dominated Fnatic in upper bracket final and moved to grand finals. Fnatic and G2 will face each other in lower bracket final on March 26th, the games now will just decide as all the three teams remaining - FPX, Fnatic and G2 Esports are qualified for VCT Stage 1 Masters. Team Liquid finished this event with a 4th place finish, €18,000 prize money and 55 VCT leader board points.

VCT EMEA Challengers playoffs results-

In the upper bracket final Fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix faced each other, both these teams were already qualified for Masters and were now playing for the EMEA Challengers seeding. Both these teams were looking unstoppable in his event but the result of this series was very unexpected. FPX destroyed Fnatic on first map Split and won 13-0. The second map was Haven which also went to FPX 13-10. FPX closed out this series fast with a 2-0 win over Fnatic and moved onto grand finals of VCT EMEA Stage 1 Challengers.

The second series of the day was big one and important. G2 and Liquid went head to head in a do or die series, the winner of this series would have qualified for VCT Masters whereas looser would be eliminated. Liquid were favourites going into this series, they already once defeated G2 esports in the upper bracket of playoffs. G2 this time had some other intentions, they dominated Liquid in this series and never gave them a chance to fight back. G2 won the series 2-0 , Icebox 13-4 and Split 13-4. With this win G2 moved to lower bracket final and also qualified for VCT Stage 1 Masters.

The lower bracket finals will be played on March 26th, whereas the Grand Final will be played on March 27th, Sunday.
