Dota 2 The International 10 - Teams, Schedule, Format, Prize Pool and more
Dota 2's biggest tournament and World Championship, The International 10 is starting on Thursday October 7th. Eighteen (18) teams will play in TI 10 and will compete for the $40million USD grand prize pool.
Here is all you need to know about The International 10-
The TI 10 will be hosted by Bucharest, Romania in Arena Naţională . The International 10 has faced many problems in its organisation due to covid 19. Originally the event was to held in Stockholm, Sweden in 2020 but due to covid 19 it was postponed a year. Then in 2021 due to covid safety protocols Sweden government didn't allow to host the event in Sweden. Therefore Valve was forced to reschedule and host the event in Bucharest, Romania on October 7th.
Dota 2 TI10 teams-
Total 18 teams from 6 regions will play in TI 10. Twelve teams were directly invited through DPC Circuit board after majors and other events in 2021, whereas the other 6 teams qualified from regional qualifiers.

The International 10 Schedule and Format-
TI 10 will start from October 7th and the Grand Final will be played on October 17th.
Group Stage-
Group stages will be played from 7thth - 10th October. 18 teams will be divided into 2 groups of 9 teams each. In the groups each team will play all the other 8 teams in a 2 map series. Top 8 teams from each groups will move to main event, whereas the bottom team from both group will be eliminated. Top 4 teams from each group will go to upper brackets whereas all other 8 teams will be placed in lower brackets.
Main Event-
Main events or Playoffs will start from October 12th and the finals will be on 17th, all the series will be BO 3 except grand finals which will be BO5. Top 8 teams from group stages will be placed in upper bracket and rest will be placed in lower bracket.
Teams in upper bracket will get 2 chances before elimination, they will be dropped down to lower bracket after loosing a series and will fight in lower bracket where all the teams will play single elimination series.
Valve canceled TI 10 ticket sales -
Due to the current rise of Covid in Romania and some local restrictions in Bucharest, valve had to take this step to ensure the safety of players, fans and organisers. Those who purchased tickets will be issued a full refund automatically.

Dota 2 TI 10 Prize Pool-
The initial prize pool of tournament was $1.6 million but after inclusion of 25% of all sales and purchases of TI battlepass the final prize pool of The International 10 is $40,018,195 USD i.e. around 40 million USD.
This grand prize pool will be divided into all 18 teams, the winner will take around 45% of prizepool which is around $18.2 millions USD.
This event will have the most prize pool of any tournament in esports history, it will break its own record of $34.3 million USD which was the prizepool of TI9.
